WNEC Womens Lacrosse downs Salve Regina 18-10

The WNEC womens lacrosse team jumped out to an 11-3 halftime lead enroute to an 18-10 victory over Salve Regina, improving to 5-3 and 3-0 in conference play, while Salve dropped to 2-6; 2-2 in TCCC play.

After jumping out to a 3-0 lead, the G-Bears played even with Salve Regina for a while, with the lead being put to 7-3 with 9:22 remaining in the first half.  At that point, WNEC would go on a 7-0 run, with 3 goals from Katie Toomy, and Kelsey Daniels scoring 4 of her game-high 8 goals on the day.  With WNEC leading 18-7 late in the game, Salve scored three unanswered goals to cut the lead to 18-10.  Salve Regina outdid WNEC in the groundballs category (15-13), but the Golden Bears dominated the draw controls, taking 18 out of 30, and force 29 turnovers against Salve Regina.

The G-Bears travel to Northampton for their next contest, when they face Smith College at 4:30.
