Springfield College uses second half surge to beat WNEC

The WNEC girls lacrosse team suffered their first loss of the 2011 season after a 12-7 loss to Springfield College at Stagg Field.  The G-Bears held a 5-4 lead with 1:48 remaining in the first half, when Springfield's Allie Davis tied the game, the first of 8 unanswered goals to put the game out of reach.  Jeanmarie Barbato (3 goals), Nicole Squadrito (2 G), and Katie Toomy (2 G) provided the offense for WNEC, who fall to 1-1 on the season.  Marissa Bonitatibus made 12 saves in net in the losing effort.

The G-Bears play their next game Tuesday when they travel to Troy, NY to play RPI.
