WNEC Baseball gets back on track with a sweep of Colby-Sawyer

After dropping two straight to Endicott and Keene St., the WNEC baseball team got back on track Saturday afternoon with a sweep of Colby-Sawyer College, 8-3 and 8-0, improving to 15-6 overall, and 11-1 in TCCC play.

In game 1, an 8-3 win for the G-Bears, WNEC chased CSC starter Kevin Keith from the game in the 4th inning, tagging him for 8 runs on 9 hits and 3 walks in just 3.2 innings.  The heart of the order, Mike Rubino and Tony Trubia combined for 4-6 with an RBI and 4 runs scored.  Ryan Dudzinski had 2 triples, producing WNEC runs.  Evan Michaud ran his record to 3-0 with the win, going 4.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits with a walk and a strikeout.

In game 2, the G-Bears finished the sweep with an 8-0 victory, scoring 6 of the 8 runs in the 4th and 5th innings to pull away.  Andrew Fatse reached base in all three times at the plate, driving in 3 and scoring twice.  Starter Mark DiTommaso got the win going the distance, allowing just one baserunner and striking out 12 in the win.

WNEC travels to Rhode Island Sunday afternoon to face Roger Williams in a doubleheader, first pitch at noon.
