Baseball moves streak to 4 games with sweep of Curry

The WNEC baseball team moved to 4-0 in the TCCC and improve to 6-1 in their last 7 games with a doubleheader sweep over Curry, winning 8-1 and 10-3, respectively.

In game 1, an 8-1 WNEC win, the G-Bears used a 3-run inning and a 5-run inning to put away Curry.  Matt Antoninis and Casey Dadio both went 2-4 with a run and an RBI at the top of the order, with Andrew Fatse scoring twice and Kyle McKelevey drove in two.  Matt Rogers got the win, going 6 innings, allowing just 1 run on 7 hits and 3 walks, running his record to 2-1.

In game 2, WNEC took no time getting on the board, using an back-to-back RBI singles from Andrew Fatse and Ryan Dudzinski to take a 2-0 first inning lead.  The G-Bears managed to score in every inning but the second, chasing Curry starter Joe Carrig from the game in the 4th inning after allowing 7 runs on 7 hits with 2 walks, en route to a 10-3 win.  Andrew Fatse went 4-4 with 2 runs and 2 RBI, and Mike Taylor drove in 3 while scoring twice and drawing two walks.  Starter Kevin Jefferies got the win, going 4.2 IP with 3 runs on 4 hits and walking 4, improving to 2-2 on the season.

The G-Bears travel to Paxton on Saturday to play Anna Maria (8-6, 3-1) in a noon doubleheader.  They return home Sunday when they face Nichols at noon at Trelease Park.
