TCCC Players of the Week

Mens Lacrosse
Offensive Player of the Week- Brian Estes, sophomore attacker, Endicott- 14 pts (11 goals, 3 assists) in 3 wins for Endicott, has 23 goals and 7 assists in 10 games in 2011.

Defensive Player of the Week- Sam Ozycz, junior midfielder, Endicott- scooped up 43 ground balls and won 61 of 84 faceoffs in 3 Endicott wins, has 119 ground balls and has won 67% of the faceoffs he has taken (161-240) to go along with 3 goals and 3 assists.

Rookie of the Week- Adam Knapton, freshman attacker, WNEC- had 5 goals and 4 assists in 3 wins for WNEC on the week, has 8 goals and 10 assists in 12 games, 6 of which have been starts.

Baseball
Player of the Week- Mike Rubino, sophomore 2B, WNEC- went 12-20 with 2 2B, 10 RBI and scored 10 times in 6 games for WNEC, is currently hitting .455/.530/.555 on the season with 7 2B, 3 3B, 29 RBI and 33 runs scored.

Pitcher of the Week- Brandon Bursie, senior, Salve Regina- had 2 appearances (1 start), throwing 9 innings, giving up just 2 runs and striking out 13.  Threw second no-hitter in Salve Regina history in win over Curry, is 3-4 with a 6.51 ERA in 7 appearances (5 starts) this season.

Rookie of the Week- Jake Northrup, freshman infielder, Endicott- went 8-18 with 2 2B, 11 RBI and 6 runs scored in 6 games, hitting .446/.479/.711 on the season with 11 2B, 3 HR, 35 RBI and has crossed the plate 22 times in 2011.

Tennis
Player of the Week- Eliot Wuhrman, junior, Nichols College- posted a 3-0 mark at #5 and #6 singles, as well as 3-0 at #3 doubles.

Rookie of the Week- Zach Arpey, freshman, Endicott- posted a 3-0 record at #3 singles, and a 3-0 record at #1 doubles.

Womens Lacrosse
Offensive Player of the Week- Ashley Hansbury, senior attacker, Curry- Scored 13 goals, and has 9 assists, 7 ground balls, 13 draw contols, and forced 7 turnovers in 2 games.  Also broke the all-time Division III points total with 441.  Currently has 65 goals and 30 assists in 11 games in 2011.

Defensive Player of the Week- Danielle Maguire, freshman goalie, Gordon- has 36 saves and a 9.67 GAA on 74 shots faced in 3 games for Gordon, currently has a 6-4 record with a 10.95 GAA and 113 saves on 300 shots faced in 2011.

Rookie of the Week- Stephanie Fitzgerald, freshman midfielder, Gordon- scored 6 goals and had 1 one assist with 14 draw controls in 3 games, currently has 21 goals and 5 assists in 13 games.

Softball
Player of the Week- Ashley Wright, senior CF, Endicott- hit .688 with 6 RBI and 10 runs scored in 6 games, has 8 2B, 2 3B, and 16 RBI and 24 runs scored in 24 games this season.

Pitchers of the Week- Jenna Bartolotti, senior RHP, Endicott- pitched 2 complete game shutouts while pitching 14 innings and striking out 9, currently has an 8-3 record with a 1.10 ERA with 38 strikeouts and has limited opposing batters to a .234 batting average in 13 appearances, 11 of which were starts; Sarah Lempicki, junior, WNEC- threw 2 complete game shutouts last week, allowing 5 hits and striking out 12 in as many innings of work, currently has a 6-3 record with a 2.86 ERA and 55 strikeouts in 6 games (3 starts).

Rookie of the Week- Maria Francese, freshman CF/2B, WNEC- went 9-18 with 2 2B, 8 RBI and 7 runs scored, currently hitting .341/.379/.476 with 1 HR and 14 RBI  and 22 runs scored in 26 games.
