WNEC Womens Lacrosse wins ECAC Championship

The WNEC womens lacrosse team captured its second ECAC championship in three years on Saturday when they defeated Curry College, 14-10.

In the second half, WNEC would score 9 of the 12 goals scored in the final 30 minutes, despite their final goal being a Katie Toomy goal with 12:36 left.  Senior standouts Jeanmarie Barbado and Nicole Poli both had games to remember on Saturday, as Barbado had 6 goals and an assist in the victory, whiel Poli had 3 groundballs, 3 draw controls, and 3 forced turnovers to go along with a goal and two assists.  Barbado finished her career with 245 goals, 76 of which were scored in 2011.  Her 245 goals ranks second in the program's 12-year history behind Lindsay Fenton, who finished her career last may with 253 goals.
