The WNEC Mens Lacrosse team won the ECAC Championship for the first time since 2005 on Sunday with an 18-5 win over Hartwick. The game quickly got out of reach after Hartwick tied the score at one, with the Golden Bears scoring 9 of the next 10 goals to jump out to a 10-2 halftime lead. The lead got up to 17-3 after Marty O'Brien scored with a minute remaining in the third quarter. Hartwick scored 2 of the 3 goals scored in the final quarter, the final being 18-5.
The Golden Bears had three different players score three times (Patrick White, Corrigan Harreys, Joe O'Keefe). O'Keefe had three assists to go along with his three goals as well. Brewter Knowlton logged nearly 57:00 in net, allowing 5 goals and making 20 saves. Zack Hoening had two saves in three minutes, not allowing a single goal.
The Golden Bears finished the season with a 16-5 record, the 16 wins being second most to 2007, when they won 17 games in a season that resulted in just one loss.
